Bangladesh was hit with devastating floods during July and August 2007. As in 2004
and 1998, SpaandanB has raised funds to help the flood victims.
SpaandanB
North Texas chapter and SpaandanB Austin chapter have actively participated in the fundraising drives for flood
relief.
As always, our goal is to maximize
the benefit of the actual flood victims. Accordingly, SpaandanB
is bearing the expenses for collecting the funds and remitting
them to Bangladesh.
For donors in the United States, your donation to SpaandanB is
fully tax-deductible
to the extent allowable by law.
To ensure that the funds are used properly, representatives from
SpaandanB's Bangladesh office visit flood relief sites. The
representatives provide us independent and objective reports on
the relief activities. All our partners are required to cooperate
with the representatives.
Our partner organizations are chosen carefully based on various
criteria, of which the most important are reliability, effectiveness
of the relief efforts and low overhead cost. Based on our experience
during the floods in 2004, this year we are working with the following organizations

To get involved, you can simply donate
for the flood victims. If you are interested in doing more, you
can work as a Local Coordinator and organize a drive to collect
